Wandering Souls

Have just had a lovely day out with my wife to be!
The horror teen didn’t want to come so we and our cameras headed off out to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve near Fakenham in Norfolk.
It was a tad cold but that doesn’t matter.
Sightings recently have been an otter, a red admiral butterfly (in dec?) and a bittern. Needless to say they were very elusive today lol.
However, we did see…
House sparrows, wren, goldeneye ducks, cormorants, robins, black headed gulls, coots, moorhens, blue tits, great tits, tree creeper, kestrel, Canada geese, Egyptian geese, greylag geese, coal tits, chaffinch, pheasants, nuthatch, great spotted woodpecker, marsh tits, shelducks, mallards, siskin, green finch, goldfinch, and a wood mouse. So, all in all a very successful day out.
Oh, and some of the early snowdrops are out. Very pretty.

Sometimes…

You know, people say life is what you make it, but just sometimes life feels like it spirals out of control, or like someone with a huge boot is kicking the crap outta ya! Metaphorically speaking obviously…
2013 is up there with being a pretty terrible year.
I lost two very close friends Susan and Christina. One took her own life at the onset of a neurological disease, and the other was found dead in bed, she had died in her sleep. I miss them both terribly.
I also lost a person I’ve known all my life in a car accident.
We also lost two grandparents, one only a few days ago.
Then we found out last night that a family member has terminal cancer.
Yet whilst it may seem shite, I am determined to ensure 2014 is a better year no matter what is flung our way.
The first of some of the positive happenings is coming soon..
I marry the woman I love!! And our first dance will be to “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum.
aAlso, I went back to work and got the first job I went for, and I love it.
I also got vback in touch with two people I thought I had lost, Gill and Jamie!! Fantastic!
I would like to wish you all a happy new year and hope its a good one.
